The WAML (Access Modul LAN) is an interface card providing connectivity inside a Hicom 300 PBX between the Atlantic LAN (ALAN"), an External LAN (ELAN") and the PCM speech highways. The module number is S30810-Q2205-X.

It manages following data exchanges:

  • Atlantic LAN <-> External LAN
  • Atlantic LAN <-> PBX
  • External LAN <-> PBX

The ALAN interface provides a Western Plug (RJ45) and the ELAN interface provides a Western Plug, a COAX jack and a 15-pt Cannon plug out of which only one may be activated at a time.

The PBX communicates with the WAML via the High Level Data Link Control (HDLC) protocol (the speech-highways are only for data- transfers).
